Tuberculosis and diabetes work hand-in-hand, presenting a major global health challenge. Having diabetes makes a person three times more likely to develop tuberculosis.

By 2040, the global number of diabetes cases will increase to over 642 million. The greatest growth is expected in places that already have a high burden of TB. This has the potential to dramatically increase the number of people who become sick with TB.

To mark World Diabetes Day, The Union and the World Diabetes Foundation have released a short documentary that explores the stories of the patients living with, and the doctors fighting against, TB-diabetes.

The Union and the World Diabetes Foundation have committed to address this issue.
