The Union challenges the tobacco industry over Lebanon’s advertising bans

Following The Union’s support of the Ministry of Health In Lebanon, a total ban on all forms of tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship came into effect in November 2011. The tobacco industry challenged this ban, creating confusion among local shop owners by stating that indoor advertisements were still permissible under the law. Following an official request for clarification from The Union, the Ministry of Justice ruled to uphold the ban in full, both indoors and outdoors.
