The Union Zimbabwe Office conducted a series of media engagement activities with health journalists and senior editors from national press outlets with the aim to increase coverage of tuberculosis (TB) and HIV, ensure accurate reporting on the subjects and more effectively communicate with the local population on health issues.

The workshops provided the 24 health journalists and 17 senior editors in attendance with information on TB and HIV and encouraged them to help break down stigma towards the two diseases. A hashtag, #media4TB, was created during the event and gained significant traction, with over 500,000 impressions by the end of the events.

The Union Zimbabwe Office conducts regular media trainings and engagement sessions as part of the Challenge TB programme, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
