As part of a series of press briefings, Paula I Fujiwara, The Union´s Scientific Director, briefed members of the United Nations Correspondents Association (UNCA) in New York on the forthcoming UN High-Level Meeting on Tuberculosis (TB) taking place in September.
She spoke about the five key areas that we are campaigning for within the Political Declaration in order to begin to turn the tide against the TB epidemic.
The briefing was moderated by UNCA President and SABC News Correspondent, Sherwin Bryce-Pease, and was a key opportunity to drive media coverage stressing the urgency for TB to receive the political will and action that is urgently needed.
During a week Dr Fujiwara also met with other key journalists including AP, AFP, Kyodo News, Al Jazeera TV and the Washington Post.
