High-Level Meeting on TB – Digital Toolkit

This toolkit provides materials and resources to help spread the word and build momentum for the first ever United Nations High-Level Meeting (UN HLM) on tuberculosis.

The UN HLM on TB will be held in New York, 26 September 2018. The HLM is convening because urgent action at the highest political level is needed if global goals to end TB are to be achieved. At present, TB kills more people each year than any other communicable disease – in 2016, this was 1.7 million deaths. But it is preventable, treatable, curable.

The Union is helping build momentum for this important meeting, calling for clear commitment to specific actions.

To ensure the UNHLM on TB is a success, we need as many heads of state to attend and participate as possible. You can download and adapt this template letter to urge your head of state to attend the UNHLM on TB. We advise you to send to your president or prime minister as soon as possible – by post or by email.

How to get involved:

Following the HLM on TB, the 2018 UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs will be held on 27 September. This will provide a crucial opportunity to mobilise political leadership and new resources and action to improve the lives of people affected by NCDs worldwide.
