Childhood tuberculosis (TB) is one of the most urgent challenges facing the lung health community today. Globally 170,000 children died in 2015 as a result of TB – that’s nearly 500 children dying every day of a disease that is entirely curable. We can all play a part, no matter how small, in addressing this terrible epidemic and saving the lives of our next generation.

When The Union ran our DETECT TB programme for 18 months in two districts of Uganda we were able to save the lives of over 1000 children. We urgently need funds to continue this work and extend it to at least five districts.

The DETECT Child TB Project was first launched in Uganda to strengthen healthcare delivery to improve childhood TB case finding, treatment and prevention. In Uganda, 2 out of 3 children with TB don’t get the treatment they need.

With your support, we hope to help over 28,000 children who have been identified as at risk from TB and HIV in seven districts in Uganda. Read more about the DETECT Child TB Project.

We are revising our policies and are not currently accepting donations.
