Updated:

The Union is seeking a new Editor-in-Chief (EIC) to lead its open-access journal  Public Health Action when the mandate of the founding EIC, Prof Donald A Enarson ends on 15 September. Applicants for the five-year term are expected to be knowledgeable about the broad fields of respiratory diseases, public health and operational research, and will preferably have had previous editorial experience.

The quarterly Public Health Action (PHA) was launched by The Union in September 2011 as a vehicle for operational research and other areas of health and research not generally covered in its sister journal, the International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease.

Now in its fourth volume, PHA has published more than 200 articles focusing on operational research on all manner of health services. The emphasis is on services for the poor and the needs of health systems in developing countries, but all parts of the world are covered. Each study provides information to help health services focus their practice more precisely and efficiently, and to refine approaches for those who are currently underserved.

PHA ranks in the top 50 among Ingenta’s 10,000 titles in terms of full text downloads

Persons interested in applying for the EIC position are invited to submit a curriculum vitae, a bibliography and the names of three referees by 15 August 2014, to:
