The 16th World Conference on Tobacco or Health will be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE on 17-21 March 2015 and focus on the theme of “Tobacco and Non-Communicable Diseases”.  The aim is to highlight the fact that tobacco use is a major risk factor for the four major non-communicable diseases -- cardiovascular diseases, cancers, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes – which cost millions of deaths each year. Organisers see the conference as an opportunity to call for a collective resolution to fight tobacco through cohesive and integrated tobacco control campaigns.

Online submission of sessions: Proposals for the conference scientific programme, including post-graduate courses, workshops and symposia, are being accepted until 15 May 2014 at www.wctoh.org. Anyone may propose a session, which should address tobacco control in terms of governance, policy, advocacy and research. Emphasis should be on the issues as they relate to low-resource, high-burden countries. All submissions must be made online at www.wctoh.org; please read the guidelines carefully, as well as the descriptions of each type of session before submitting a proposal.

Abstract submissions will open later this month.

Further information will be posted as it becomes available at www.wctoh.org
