The conference was an especially exciting one, culminating not only the 2010 Year of the Lung campaign, but also marking The Union's 90th year and the 100th anniversary of the death of Prof Robert Koch, discoverer of M. tuberculosis.
More than 2,600 delegates from 128 countries attended the conference which offered sessions in English, French and Russian.
