TB Reach

In 2011, The Union was awarded 3 projects funded under Wave-2 of the Stop TB Partnership's TB REACH initiative. The projects are currently being implemented in Uganda, India and Myanmar. The objective of the TB REACH initiative is to promote early and increased case detection of tuberculosis (TB) cases and to ensure their timely treatment, while maintaining high cure rates within the national TB programmes. The particular focus of the projects is on increasing access to the poor, vulnerable and others who have limited access to TB services.

The projects are of one year duration. They were selected on a competitive basis from over 300 applications. In total, TB REACH has approved US$ 31 million for 45 projects in 29 countries under its Wave-2 funding.
