Partners in the Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use (BI)

Since 2007, The Union has worked closely with the following BI partners:

In addition, The Union is part of the Framework Convention Alliance www.fctc.org. The Union Headquarters are based in France where The Union partners with the National Committee for Tobacco Control, a French NGO: www.cnct.fr.

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Alliance

Through the NCD Alliance, The Union has joined a new campaign with some long-time partners, such as the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), and new partners, the International Diabetes Federation and the World Heart Federation. These partners are working together to raise awareness of the 35 million deaths each year caused by non-communicable diseases – and the fact that tobacco use is one of the major risk factors for the four principal diseases: cardiovascular diseases, cancers, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes.

WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY

The Union participates each year in World No Tobacco Day, working with partners around the world to publicize and build awareness and knowledge of the health risks of tobacco use and the tobacco pandemic.
