HIV experts from The Union serve on many international committees and participate in working groups, including:

• Strategic and Technical Advisory Group for Tuberculosis (STAG-TB)
• TB HIV Working Group and Core Group (STOP TB Partnership)
• MDRTB Core Group (STOP TB Partnership)

 

They also make presentations at the International AIDS Conference, and organise symposia and technical courses for other conferences and events.

Patient advocates at the Union World Conference

Patients and patient advocates play a vital role in the dialogue about how to address global health problems such as the TB/HIV epidemic. The Union encourages and supports the participation of these groups at the World Conference on Lung Health to help ensure that their voices are heard.

World AIDS Day

The Union marks World AIDS Day, held on 1 December each year, with publicity, posters and other activities designed to help build awareness of the HIV and TB/HIV epidemics.
