The International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (IJTLD) and Public Health Action (PHA) are the official journals of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union).
The IJTLD (Impact Factor 2.731 ), founded as the Bulletin of the IUAT in 1920, aims to support the continuing education of physicians and other health services personnel by disseminating the most up-to-date information in the fields of tuberculosis and respiratory disease. It publishes original articles and commissioned reviews on the clinical, biological and community aspects of pneumology, with an emphasis on lung health in developing countries. The IJTLD encourages submissions that incorporate fundamental research, the elaboration, implementation and assessment of field projects, and action programmes for tuberculosis control and the promotion of lung health.
PHA, a new free-access, online journal, was launched by The Union on 1 May 2011. The new journal aims to promote the vision of The Union, Health solutions for the poor, by disseminating new knowledge on health systems and health services for vulnerable groups, with a priority on tuberculosis, lung health, non-communicable diseases and related public health issues. PHA welcomes the submission of articles on issues related to quality, accessibility, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, ethical issues and equity of health services for populations with limited resources. As the focus of PHA is on health systems and health services research, authors submitting articles covering these topics that have traditionally been considered for the IJTLD may be invited to submit them to PHA.
