- Impact of body of research by the candidate
- Recognition in the field

For the Karel Styblo Public Health Prize
- Importance of contributions to public health
- Impact of contributions locally
- Impact of contributions nationally
- Impact of contributions globally and on public health practice
- Impact of contributions on national programme public health policy/international guidelines or, in the case of an institution, impact on achievement of goals
