• Importance of research contributions
• Originality of research
• Adequacy of research methods
• Impact of body of research by the candidate
• Recognition in the field
• Merit of future plans

For the Karel Styblo Public Health Prize

• Importance of contributions to public health
• Impact of contributions locally
• Impact of contributions nationally
• Impact of contributions globally and on public health practice
• Impact of contributions on national programme public health policy/international guidelines or, in the case of an institution, impact on achievement of goals
