The main aims of the IJTLD are the continuing education of physicians and other health personnel, and the dissemination of the most up-to-date information in the field of tuberculosis and lung health.

The International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease is the reference for clinical research and epidemiological studies on tuberculosis. It is also the only peer-reviewed journal dedicated to lung health worldwide, including articles on TB-HIV and non-tuberculosis-related respiratory diseases such as asthma, acute respiratory infection, COPD and the hazards of tobacco and pollution.
The IJTLD encourages submission of articles that incorporate:
a) fundamental research
b) the elaboration, implementation and assessment of field projects and
c) action programmes for tuberculosis control and the promotion of lung health.

The IJTLD publishes articles on all aspects of lung health, including public health-related issues such as training programmes, cost-benefit analysis, legislation, epidemiology, intervention studies and health systems research.

Distribution

The monthly IJTLD (plus regular supplements) is distributed in over 165 countries to physicians, health workers, researchers, professors, students and decision-makers, including public health centres, medical, university and pharmaceutical libraries, hospitals, clinics, foundations and institutions.
Selected articles from the IJTLD are available in French, Chinese, Russian and Spanish.

• The Chinese version is distributed three times a year to 4000 colleagues in China
• The first issue of the Russian version appeared in October 2003 and the second issue in June 2006.
• The first issue of the Spanish version appeared in December 2005 and the second issue in May 2008.

Hard copy back issues of the IJTLD can be purchased separately from The Union. Electronic archives are available free of charge on Ingenta.

Journal on-line

All back issues (from 1997 up to 6 months previously) are accessible free of charge for all readers from Ingenta . Access to the current volume is available to all fully paid-up members and subscribers using the number provided on their current membership card.
