The Union Middle East supports federation against lung disease PDF Print E-mail

__The Union Middle East Office has helped a group of non-governmental organisations in Egypt to establish and register the Egyptian Federation Against Lung Disease, the first federation working against lung disease in Egypt.

Through the continuous technical and administrative assistance of the UME team, federation members have developed considerable experience in tobacco control. They have also been regular participants in the technical and management courses offered by The Union and coordinated by UME over the past three years.

The federation’s work as a formal body is expected to add to the global momentum building towards addressing the devastating impact of tobacco use on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and supporting the success of upcoming UN Summit on NCDs in September 2011.
